The Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis). This short sequence isn’t the most cinematically stylish, but just an indulgence of my love for chameleons, thrown together with some surplus footage. I’ll put it with some background information on these beautiful beasts at jamesreardon.org as soon as I have a moment. These animals are so much more than the cliche. They don’t even change their colour to match their habitat. Colour change in chameleons is largely in the pursuit of thermoregulation (darker colours absorb heat, pale colour reflect it) and communication to other chameleons of the same species.
